Delta Conservancy
The Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta Conservancy (or Delta Conservancy) is the primary state agency to implement ecosystem restoration in the Delta and support efforts that advance environmental protection and the economic well-being of Delta residents.
The Conservancy collaborates and cooperates with local communities and other parties to preserve, protect, and restore the natural resources, economy, and agriculture of the Delta and Suisun Marsh.
Some of the Conservancy’s many programs include:
- Ecosystem: Arundo Control and Restoration Project, Delta Interagency Invasive Species Coordination Team, Delta Mercury Exposure Reduction Program, Carbon sequestration studies and pilot projects, Delta waterway cleanups
- Economic: Delta branding and marketing.
- Grant Programs: Prop 1; Prop 68; Climate, Access, and Resource Funding; Delta Drought Response Pilot Program
The Delta Conservancy is governed by a 13-member board representing the five Delta counties, local nonprofits, special districts, and state and federal agencies.
