From the State Water Resources Control Board:
The 2022 California Water Data Challenge invites interested individuals and teams to develop apps, websites, data visualizations or other tools to support creative solutions to California’s water challenges. Submit your open data project through Dec. 16, 2022 to be eligible for prizes toward education and professional development awards!
We encourage all participants to explore the many open data resources available related to safe drinking water, in support of the Open and Transparent Water Data Act (AB 1755). The California Water Data Challenge will provide participants an opportunity to engage with the open data portal and submit feedback, advice, and suggestions for consideration as this effort is being implemented.
To get involved:
- Read more about the 2022 Water Data Challenge topics on Racial Equity, Policies and Regulations, Data Accessibility, and Data Quality.
- Peruse previous award winners and their projects, code and data!
- Explore the many open data resources available on the Challenge Data and Resources page. At least one open data resource must be used to be considered for awards.
- Join the Slack Channel to connect with the event organizers, other participants, and get real-time updates. Typically project teams consist of 2-6 members, but individual submissions are welcome as well.
