Background:  The Nonpoint Source Grant Program funds projects that reduce pollution to waters of the state, such as projects that reduce pesticide and nutrient runoff from agricultural operations, improve or decommission dirt roads to reduce erosion and sediment runoff, stabilize streambanks to reduce erosion, implement marina programs to reduce toxic discharges from anti-fouling paint, and install infrastructure improvements for ranching and livestock operations to reduce erosion and runoff of nutrients and pathogens.
