NOTICE of Proposed Transfer – El Dorado Irrigation District

From the State Water Resources Control Board:

On July 20, 2022, El Dorado Irrigation District (EID) filed a petition for change with the State Water Resources Control Board (State Water Board) involving a temporary transfer of up to 750 acre-feet of water pursuant to Water Code section 1725 et seq.  With the petition, EID requests to add points of rediversion and a place of use to License 2184 (Application 1692) to facilitate a transfer of water to the Westlands Water District.  The transfer water would be made available by re-operating Weber Reservoir to release water that would have remained in storage in 2022.  Temporary changes approved pursuant to Water Code section 1725 may be effective for up to one year.

The transfer is proposed to occur from September through November 2022.  The notice is posted on the State Water Board’s website at: 2022 Notices.

The 30-day comment period per Water Code section 1726 (f) has been reduced to 15 days per the Governor’s Proclamation of a State of Emergency in the Klamath River, Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta, and Tulare Lake Watershed Counties due to drought (Drought Proclamation) dated May 10, 2021.  This Drought Proclamation will help expedite processing of water transfers.  Comments filed in response to this notice must be received by 4:30 p.m. on August 16, 2022.
