From the State Water Resources Control Board:
On May 24, 2022, Placer County Water Agency (PCWA) filed a petition for temporary change with the State Water Resources Control Board (State Water Board) to transfer up to 21,053 acre-feet of water pursuant to Water Code section 1725 et seq. With the petition, PCWA requests to add a point of rediversion and a place of use to Permit 13856 (Application 18085) to facilitate a transfer of water to the East Bay Municipal Utility District. The water will be made available for transfer by reservoir release. Temporary changes approved pursuant to Water Code section 1725 may be effective for up to one year.
The transfer is proposed to occur between July 15 and September 30, 2022. The notice is posted on the State Water Board’s website under Transfer Notices and Orders at: 2022 Notices.
The 30-day comment period per Water Code section 1726 (f) has been reduced to 15 days per the Governor’s Proclamation of a State of Emergency in the Klamath River, Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta, and Tulare Lake Watershed Counties due to drought (Drought Proclamation) dated May 10, 2021. This Drought Proclamation will help expedite processing of water transfers. Comments filed in response to this notice must be received by 4:30 p.m. on June 20, 2022.
