From the State Water Resources Control Board:
On March 10, 2022, Stevinson Water District (SWD) and East Side Canal & Irrigation Company (ESCC) jointly filed a petition for temporary change to water right License 5940 (Application 5724), pursuant to California Water Code section 1725 et seq. With the petition, SWD/ESCC seek authorization to transfer up to 5,000 acre-feet of water from Bear Creek to the San Luis Canal Company (SLCC) for irrigation use. The proposed transfer would add the service area of SLCC as a place of use to License 5940. Temporary changes approved pursuant to Water Code section 1725 may be effective for up to one year.
