California Rapid Assessment Method for wetlands (CRAM) – 2022 Trainings

The 2022 CRAM training session dates and locations have been set! These training sessions will provide the skills necessary to consistently conduct accurate CRAM assessments and will provide guidance on the use of CRAM for ambient and project assessment and monitoring.

If you are not familiar with CRAM, it is a level 2 (under EPA’s level 1, 2, 3 framework) rapid condition assessment method. Uses of CRAM include, but are not necessarily limited to:

  • Restoration site selection, design, and monitoring
  • Impact and Mitigation site planning, analysis, and monitoring
  • Watershed planning and management
  • Baseline and post-project monitoring
  • Land and aquatic resource management

Registration is now open on the CRAM website. Visit: www.cramwetlands.org/training to register and view more information about locations and schedule. You may also access the CRAM training website through the links on the CWMW’s website (https://www.mywaterquality.ca.gov/monitoring_council/wetland_workgroup/) under both “Announcements” and “Training Opportunities”.

In light of continuing COVID concerns, the 2022 CRAM Training sessions will follow a modified format consisting of two parts: a virtual classroom portion and an in-person, but entirely outdoors, field portion. Participants should register based upon the field location that they will attend. Locations, classroom dates, and field dates are provided below. Additional details are provided on the registration page for each individual training location.

Please contact Sarah Pearce (cram-training@sfei.org) with any additional questions.
