Online Public Comment Workshops March 9th and March 10th
From the Department of Conservation:
The California Strategic Growth Council and the Department of Conservation(DOC) are pleased to announce the release of the 2021-2022 Sustainable Agricultural Lands Conservation Program (SALC) Draft Guidelines.
DOC will host a series of online workshops to share program information and to solicit public input.
About the Program: The SALC Program supports agricultural land conservation, economic growth, and sustainable development by providing grants for three types of projects:
- Planning grants that support the development of local and regional land use policies and economic development strategies to protect critical agricultural land.
- Agricultural Conservation Acquisition grants to permanently protect croplands and rangelands that are at-risk of conversion to residential and rural residential development.
- Capacity and Project Development grants to expand organizational capacity to develop agricultural conservation acquisition projects.
