From the State Water Resources Control Board:

On April 14, 2021, Stevinson Water District (SWD) and East Side Canal & Irrigation Company (ESCC) jointly filed a petition for long-term change to water right License 5940 (Application 5724), pursuant to California Water Code section 1735 et seq. With the petition, SWD/ESCC seek authorization to transfer up to 5,000 acre-feet of water annually from Bear Creek to the San Luis Canal Company (SLCC) for irrigation use.  The proposed transfer would add the service area of SLCC as a place of use to License 5940. SWD/ESCC have an existing long-term transfer order that expires on January 1, 2022.  The proposed long-term change would extend that transfer for a period of up to 10 years and end on December 31, 2031.
