From the State Water Resources Control Board:
The State Water Resources Control Board (State Water Board) released a Notice of Informal Consultation with Responsible and Trustee Agencies Regarding an Environmental Document for Water Quality Certification (Informal Consultation Notice) for the Kerckhoff Hydroelectric Project.
Pacific Gas and Electric Company owns and operates the Project and, in accordance with section 401 of the Clean Water Act, plans to apply for water quality certification (certification). The Informal Consultation Notice solicits input from responsible and trustee agencies on the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) process for Project certification. While it is not required by CEQA, the State Water Board will accept similar input and supporting information from other interested entities and persons.
The State Water Board will accept written comments until 5:00pm on August 16, 2021.
The Informal Consultation Notice and additional information are available on the State Water Board’s Project Webpage at: https://www.waterboards.ca.gov/waterrights/water_issues/programs/water_quality_cert/kerckhoff_hydroelectric_ferc96.html
