From the Department of Water Resources:
Since March 2021, the Bulletin 74 Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) has been providing guidance to DWR to support our project vision to develop “Updated Well Standards that are enforceable, protective, and based on the current state of knowledge and best practices.”
To conclude the first phase of the TAC process, DWR invites members of the public to view the second TAC Plenary Meeting via YouTube livestream on Monday, June 21 from 1 – 4 pm.
Meeting Purpose:
- Provide a summary reflection on Phase 1 of the TAC Focus Group meetings.
- Prepare for Phase 2 of the TAC Focus Group meetings.
- Provide an update on State Water Resources Control Board coordination.

Engagement Opportunities
You can participate in the update of DWR Bulletin 74, California Well Standards in the following ways:
- Provide input directly to DWR. Share ideas about improving the standards by submitting comments to the Bulletin 74: California Well Standards Comment Portal or by emailing Bulletin74@water.ca.gov.
- Reach out to TAC members who represent your interests. See the attached TAC member roster.
- Provide input during the Public Review Process. Following the TAC process, DWR will release a Public Review Draft and hold public workshops to collect and consider public comments before finalizing the standards. More information will be provided by Fall 2022.
