NOTICE: Petition for Temporary Transfer of Water under Clifton Court LP License 1289

From the State Water Board:

On May 5, 2021, Clifton Court LP (Clifton Court) filed a petition for temporary change with the State Water Resources Control Board (State Water Board) to transfer up to 1,539 acre-feet of water pursuant to Water Code section 1725 et seq.  With the petition, Clifton Court requests to add a point of diversion and a place of use to License 1289 (Application 4635) to facilitate a transfer of water to Westlands Water District.  Temporary changes approved pursuant to Water Code section 1725 may be effective for up to one year.

The transfer is proposed to occur between July 1 and September 30, 2021.  A link to the petition submittal will be posted shortly on the State Water Board’s website at: 2021 Notices.  Below is a copy of the notice that includes additional information.   

The 30-day comment period per Water Code section 1726(f) has been reduced to 15 days per the Governor’s Proclamation of a State of Emergency in the Klamath River, Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta, and Tulare Lake Watershed Counties due to drought (Drought Proclamation) dated May 10, 2021.  This Drought Proclamation will help expedite processing of water transfers.  Comments filed in response to this notice must be received by 4:30 p.m. on June 8, 2021.
