From the State Water Board:
Attached is an updated public notice regarding the State Water Resources Control Board (State Water Board) proposed Statewide Suction Dredge Mining General Permit (issued for public comments on May 12, 2020). The public notice announces:

- The availability of a draft high-resolution interactive Geographic Information System map, and enlarged county map snapshots, that serve as a tool to assist in understanding the applicable location of the corresponding proposed requirements in the proposed Statewide Permit;
(2) Two public workshops for State Water Board staff to demonstrate how to use the available mapping tool; and
(3) A re-established public comment due date of 12:00 PM noon on March 8, 2021 for all public written comments regarding the proposed Statewide Permit to be submitted to the State Water Board. Public written comments may address the draft high-resolution map.
The two virtual public workshops to demonstrate the draft high-resolution mapping tool to interested parties will be conducted on the following dates:
Wednesday, January 13, 2021 – 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
and
Thursday, January 28, 2021 – 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Instructions to join the public workshops will be sent through a separate Lyris email and will be posted on the Suction Dredge Mining Program web site. The proposed General Permit, a link to the draft electronic mapping tool, links to enlarged map snapshots of individual counties, and further corresponding permitting information are available on the State Water Board Suction Dredge Mining NPDES Program page (www.waterboards.ca.gov/water_issues/programs/npdes/suction_dredge_mining.html).
