SECTION 408 NOTICE: WA2019088 – Little Egbert Tract Borings and Cone Penetration Tests (CPTs)

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District has posted a public notice for the Little Egbert Tract Borings and Cone Penetration Tests (CPTs) (WA2019088) to https://www.spk.usace.army.mil/408permissions/  

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), pursuant to 33 U.S.C. 408 (Section 408), is reviewing a request for an alteration to a USACE federally authorized civil works project.  Engineering Circular (EC) 1165-2-220 guidance requires USACE to solicit appropriate information from the public to inform the environmental analysis and public interest determination. A requester has the responsibility to acquire all other permissions or authorizations required by federal, state, and local laws or regulations, including any required permits from the USACE Regulatory Program under Section 10 of the Rivers and Harbors Act of 1899 (33 U.S.C. 403) and/or Section 404 of the Clean Water Act (33 U.S.C. Section 1344).

In compliance with U.S.C. Title 33, Chapter 9, Subchapter 1, Section 408, the Reclamation District (RD) 2084 (requester) has requested permission through the Central Valley Flood Protection Board (CVFPB) (non-federal sponsor of the federally authorized project) from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) to alter the Sacramento River Flood Control Project, an existing federal flood risk management project, authorized by the Flood Control Act of 1917. The proposed alteration is located on Little Egbert Tract, north of the City of Rio Vista, Solano County, California.
