NOTICE: Delta Science Proposal Solicitation Released

The Delta Stewardship Council, through its Delta Science Program, and in partnership with U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, is pleased to announce the release of the final version of our proposal solicitation notice for high-quality social and biophysical science studies in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta, that advance the 2017-2021 Science Action Agenda (SAA).

This solicitation is expected to award up to $9 million for research projects with direct management relevance. Two proposal categories will be considered: (1) Research Awards and (2) Integrated Socio-Ecological Systems Awards. Research Awards fund projects that are smaller in scope (maximum award of $700,000 for 12-31 month projects) and not necessarily multidisciplinary. Integrated Socio-Ecological Systems Awards fund projects that are collaborative, multidisciplinary, and meaningfully integrate one or more of the social sciences with one or more of the biophysical sciences (maximum award of $1,500,000 for 12-31 month projects). All proposals must address one or more priority management needs or priority science actions identified in the SAA, and or priorities identified by the Sacramento River Science Partnership. The Council has partnered with California Sea Grant to support proposal submission and review processes and stakeholder engagement for funded work.

A noncompetitive Letter of Intent is required and due by December 15, 2020. Full proposals are due February 12, 2021. The Delta Stewardship Council will also be hosting informational webinars in advance of the proposal submission deadline to answer questions on proposal requirements.

Please visit the California Sea Grant webpage for the full proposal solicitation, submission instructions, and information about upcoming webinars.
