USBR, DWR, FWS and CDFW, via the Culture and Supplementation of Smelt (CASS) process are announcing the availability of cultured Delta Smelt for research.
The memo below outlines the process and deadlines for requesting cultured Delta Smelt from the 2021 year class. The fact sheet below provides general information regarding CASS and the fish request process, including information requesting 2021 and 2022 year class smelt.
There are 2 deadlines for requesting 2021 year class fish: December 1, 2020 (all life stages); and March 1, 2021 (adult life stage only). The deadline for requesting 2022 year class fish will be in June 2021.
