NOTICE: Public Stakeholder Webinar and Material on Water Loss Performance Standards

From the State Water Resources Control Board:

The State Water Resources Control Board will hold a public stakeholder webinar to inform the development of water loss performance standards per California Water Code 10608.34 on May 13, 2020. This is an informal webinar where a quorum of the State Water Board may be present but no formal action will be taken. Please see the notice below.

The webinar will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on May 13, 2020. Due to ongoing circumstances related to the COVID-19 emergency, all public participation will be remote via an online hosted platform. This webinar will provide opportunities for stakeholder feedback in addition to the formal comment period.

The materials for comment are listed as follows:

  1. Proposed Water Loss Performance Standards: Overview and Timeline
  2. Draft economic model for calculating volumetric standards (second version)

(The model contains proposed default values for inputs and uses example values for supplier-specific input values from water loss audits – see item 6 for all values)

  1. Questionnaires for data submission requirements of the proposal on:
    1. Data quality (Apparent loss)
    2. Asset management
    3. Pressure management
  2. Overview of proposed off-ramp provision
  3. Summary of current leakage and proposed volumetric standards for urban retail water suppliers
  4. Input values from water loss audits used to calculate standard
