ANNOUNCEMENT: Flood-MAR Public Forum Registration Deadline is October 14

Everyone interested and invested in California water is invited to attend the Flood-MAR Public Forum: Exploring Science, Socio-Economic, and Policy Considerations for Managed Aquifer Recharge, at Sacramento State University Alumni Center on October 28 and 29. Join policy experts, scientists, researchers, and other professionals for panel discussions and keynote addresses on using floodwater for managed aquifer recharge (Flood-MAR).

On Monday, October 28, the focus will be on the policy and socio-economic aspects of Flood-MAR. The agenda features a panel discussion on policy that can help Flood-MAR increase in reach and effectiveness. Panel members include Don Cameron, President of the State Board of Food and Agriculture and a long-time Flood-MAR implementer; Armando Quintero, Chair of the California Water Commission; Bill Edgar, President of the Central Valley Flood Protection Board; Joaquin Esquivel, Chair of the State Water Resources Control Board; and Mary Creasman, member of the Wildlife Conservation Board.

On Tuesday, October 29, the scientific and technical side of Flood-MAR will be discussed. Panels include sessions on quantifying water available for recharge, determining recharge locations and methods, and understanding water accounting methods. Please see the attached agenda for details.

Registration for both days is $150 and includes continental breakfast, lunch, and a reception on Monday evening. The registration deadline is Monday, October 14.
