NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING concerning adoption of a resolution to approve the Delta Nutrient Research Plan

From the Central Valley Regional Water Board:

The Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board (Central Valley Water Board or Board) will hold a public hearing to receive comments and consider a resolution to approve the Delta Nutrient Research Plan.

The Central Valley Water Board’s 2014 Delta Strategic Work Plan and the Delta Plan (adopted by the Delta Stewardship Council in 2013) identify development of a Delta Nutrient Research Plan as a priority. The Delta Nutrient Research Plan establishes a framework and actions to generate information to determine whether numeric water quality objectives for nutrients are needed and whether nutrient reductions will decrease existing water quality concerns in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta.

A public hearing concerning this matter will be held during the Central Valley Water Board meeting scheduled for:
DATE: August 2-3 2018
TIME: 8:30 a.m.
PLACE: Central Valley Water Board Room
11020 Sun Center Drive, Suite 200
Rancho Cordova, CA 95670

At the hearing, Board staff will give a presentation to the Central Valley Water Board on the proposed Delta Nutrient Research Plan. Following the presentation, the Central Valley Water Board will consider adopting a resolution to approve the Delta Nutrient Research Plan and direct staff to begin implementation of the plan. A more detailed agenda will be available prior to the meeting date.

The Delta Nutrient Research Plan is available on the Board’s website:
https://www.waterboards.ca.gov/centralvalley/water_issues/delta_water_quality/delta_nutrient_research_plan/

At the hearing, there will be no sworn testimony or cross-examination of participants, but the Central Valley Water Board may ask clarifying questions. Opportunity will be provided for oral comments by interested persons. To ensure an efficient hearing, oral comments may be limited to 3-minutes at the discretion of the Board Chair.
