ANNOUNCEMENT: Posting of alternative compliance plans for the water rights measurement and reporting regulation

From the State Water Resources Control Board:

The State Water Board ’s Water Rights Measurement and Monitoring regulation provides that a water right holder may file an Alternative Compliance Plan to satisfy all, or some of, the requirements of the regulation by alternative means. The State Water Board has posted the Alternative Compliance Plans received in April to allow for public comments.  The plans are posted at: https://www.waterboards.ca.gov/waterrights/water_issues/programs/measurement_regulation/acp_list.shtml, and this website will be updated periodically, with lyris notification to inform the public of the updates.

Interested persons may provide written comment on individual Alternative Compliance Plans by emailing dwr-measurement@waterboards.ca.gov. Please include the Water Right ID and “Comments on ACP” in the subject line of the email.

Important:  The posting of the plans does not indicate the State Water Board’s approval or denial of a plan.  Posting allows for public comments that can be taken into consideration when the State Water Board evaluates the adequacy of a plan.  A water right holder considering filing an Alternative Compliance Plan should review the regulation to determine what to include in a proposed plan, and should not rely on the posted plans.

If you have questions, please contact Jeff Yeazell (jeffrey.yeazell@waterboards.ca.gov).
