If you enjoy this website, here’s the list of organizations and people to thank …

Maven’s Notebook gratefully acknowledges all of those who contributed to make continued operation of this website possible

Dear Readers,

I can recall when it all began – that exact moment when the tiny seed of obsession that would one day grow into this website became planted in my brain. It was 2007, and I can remember very clearly saying to my husband, “I wonder what would happen if I became real smart about water.” Over the years, I will tell you that the answer to that question has been anything but certain, but after all this time, I am still here.  Perhaps that surprises me most of all.

It was one of those uncertain moments last fall when faced with funding challenges, I put out the call for donations and your response was extremely gratifying. To the 45 organizations and over 200 readers who sent in donations, large and small: A big heartfelt thank you, for it is all of you that have made continued operation of this website possible. I am here because I want to be, but I certainly couldn’t do it without any funding.

Here’s the list of all who contributed to make continued operation of this website possible.

So where to go from here? I did fall short of my funding goal, so there is more work ahead to get positioned to apply for more grants. I am in the process of setting up an advisory committee. I am hiring a consultant to help me with a few website issues and to develop club member benefits for the website. I have a head full of ideas and one in particular that I am hoping to launch this year, so stay tuned! There’s so much more to come.

I have only one mission and it is one that I pursue relentlessly, and that is to publish the most comprehensive crazy-best website for California water news and information. My pledge to you is to continue doing exactly that.  And while I certainly couldn’t do what I do without my funders, I couldn’t do it without my readers either, so to all of you who show up here every day, thank you for being a reader of Maven’s Notebook.

After all, a blogger blogs to be read, and I am so incredibly honored to be read by all of you!

With warmest regards,

Maven
