Over three years ago, I launched Maven’s Notebook with the vision of creating the most comprehensive and relevant internet resource for up-to-the-minute California water news and information, combining the staggering amount of news and information from a wide array of internet sources with original coverage of agency meetings, conferences and seminars.
[pullquote]2 ways to donate …
[/pullquote]I have worked hard to create a website that fulfills a unique role of providing detailed and accurate information not found elsewhere, and the tremendous growth in website readership demonstrates the vital need that Maven’s Notebook fulfills. Since inception, readership has grown steadily every year with this year’s statistics the strongest yet: in 2015, Maven’s Notebook will have served over half a million pages to well over 160,000 visitors.
And yet as I look back over the past year, while much has been accomplished, there is much more to be done. With so many key policy processes underway, the need for unbiased and factual information that Maven’s Notebook provides could not be more critical. The decision point for the California Water Fix, the update of the Bay Delta Water Quality Control Plan, implementation of the historic groundwater legislation, and how to spend Prop 1 storage funds, plus whatever Mother Nature and El Nino decide to throw at us, Maven’s Notebook is committed to preparing the California water community to tackle the truly big, complex issues ahead.
Make a tax-deductible donation to Maven’s Notebook and make an investment in California’s water future.
If we are to move forward on these pressing issues, well-informed policy makers and an equally well-informed public are crucial. Maven’s Notebook helps cut through the complicated and controversial details of water flow, water supply, water quality and environmental disputes to provide unbiased and factual information that contributes to informed decisions that benefit the environment and our quality of life.
Your tax deductible donation will ensure this work continues.
Over the past few months, I have been working hard to raise funds to remain in operation next year. I am grateful to all who have contributed but still more funds are needed to ensure continued operation. If you believe in the value of Maven’s Notebook, please make a tax-deductible donation today and together we can continue to make a difference in the big water policy issues that lie ahead.
Lastly, I want to thank you for being a reader of Maven’s Notebook. The tremendous growth and success of Maven’s Notebook would not be possible without its most precious asset – all of the loyal readers, for all of you showing up here every day is the reason why I show up here every day, too. Let’s keep meeting like this! After all, a blogger blogs to be read, and I feel truly feel blessed to be read by each and every one of you.
Wishing you and yours a happy and safe holiday season.
With warmest regards,
Maven
