The State Water Resources Control Board has released the framework document for implementation of the Governor’s Executive Order to impose restrictions to achieve a 25% reduction in urban water usage. The mandatory water reductions apply to urban water suppliers who serve more than 3000 customers or deliver more than 3000 acre-feet of water per year, and includes suppliers regulated by the Public Utilities Commission.
The framework document proposes how to apportion water supplier reductions, new reporting requirements, compliance assessment, and enforcement, as well as a few provisions that apply to all Californians.
Comments on the Proposed Regulatory Framework are due by April 13th.
