Do you get lost wandering around the Bay Delta Conservation Plan planning documents? Well, I sure do. With literally thousands of pages and multiple pdf file downloads, it’s not that hard for me to lose my way.
I recently returned to the BDCP documents in search of some information and soon found myself lost in multiple pdf files. I was having a hard time remembering what was where, so I decided to map it out for myself in this handy little iPad program I purchased for myself awhile back. And what you see to the left is the result.
It’s a visual guide to the BDCP planning documents, and I’ve integrated updated information whenever possible. I found it helpful to me; hopefully it will be useful to you.

iPAD USERS: WOULD YOU LIKE A VERSION FOR YOUR iPAD?
There’s a bit more detail in this than I was able to display without making the text too annoying small. Email me if you can use this in any of these iPad programs: iThoughtsHD, MyThoughts, FreeMind, MindManager, Novamind 4 & 5, Xmind, iMindMap 4 & 5, Mindview 3 & 4, Concept Draw 6 & 7, MindGenius. This was created in iThoughtsHD; the app is available for $10 at the iStore.
FEEDBACK? SUGGESTIONS?
Maven is all about creating useful things, especially projects that make information more accessbile to people. I view this as a prototype of things to come, although I soon realized this is not the program I should use in future similar presentations. What do you think of this type of visual presentation? Is it useful to you? Why or why not? Do you have any suggestions on this project? or suggestions in general? Anything you’d like to see on the Notebook blog? Please email me with your thoughts and suggestions. I’d love to hear from you!
Regards,
Maven
